Our commitment

Your data belongs to you. StagePath follows the data protection laws of the places our members live, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, and the California Consumer Privacy Act. This page explains your rights and exactly how to use them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.

Delete your account or your data

Two ways, whichever is easier: in the app under Settings, Privacy and your data, or on this website, without signing in or reinstalling the app.
  • Delete my account: closes your account and erases your personal data. The account is switched off at once and erased after 14 days; the email we send lets you cancel until then.
  • Delete my data: keep your account and erase the kinds of data you choose: posts and comments, videos, messages, listening history, notifications, profile photo and details, or devices and sessions. Erased as soon as you confirm.

Requests made on this website are confirmed by a link we send to the email address on the account, so nobody else can delete your data. Records the law requires us to keep (payments, payouts and tax) are kept without your personal details.

How requests are handled

  • Response time: we act on requests within 30 days, and sooner where we can. Deletions you confirm in the app or by email happen automatically.
  • Verification: we confirm requests through the email address on your account, or by your being signed in, so that nobody else can act on your data.
  • No charge: requests are free. We may decline requests that are clearly unfounded or excessive, and will tell you why.
  • Someone acting for you: an authorised agent can make a request on your behalf with your written permission; we will still confirm it with you.

What we keep after a deletion, and why

  • Financial records: payments, payouts, earnings and tax records, kept as tax and accounting laws require, with a meaningless identifier in place of your name and email.
  • The audit log: our tamper-evident record of important decisions keeps entries with the same meaningless identifier, so the record cannot be altered.
  • Other people’s copies: messages you received stay with you, and messages you sent are removed from other people’s conversations when you delete your messages or your account.
  • Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
